We have lots of great news about Downtown and invite you to be a part of our success. This year's Annual Meeting will celebrate Downtown's unprecedented growth. Find out first-hand about plans for the latest developments that are changing the face and character of our Downtown community.
You can even enjoy an exclusive "Live From..." mock newscast anchored by CNN's Kyra Phillips and Miles O'Brien. We will also announce the winner of the International Design Competition honoring Andrew Young, Jr. Awards Dan Sweat Award Given in memory of Dan Sweat, past CAP President, who led the organization and Downtown Atlanta through very tumultuous times in the business and political environment of this City's growth. The award, designed to honor his heritage and accomplishments, is given to business and/or organizational leaders who have exhibited those traits and become quiet, effective leaders beyond the scope of their positions in the community. 2005 recipient - Herman J. Russell, Chairman, H.J.Russell & Company Community Leadership Awards Started in 2003, the award was designed to recognize those in our community who as individual private citizens step forward and do good works on Downtown's behalf. Recipients of this award rarely ever show up on the normal radar screen in the corporate and organizational leadership world. But just because they are out of sight, does not mean the value of service and dedication is any less. In some cases, acting as private individuals, supporting causes without the backing of corporate budgets, may be a more formidable task making successes at this level even more note worthy. 2005 recipients - Debi Starnes, Atlanta City Councilmember Frank Catroppa, Superintendent, Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site Event Information
