East-West Corridor Forum

On April 18, 2007 Central Atlanta Progress and the City of Atlanta hosted a meeting of institutional representatives, property owners, business owners, residents and other stakeholders to explore prospects for and obstacles to development of the East-West Corridor in the southern half of Downtown.  Presentations and collaborative exercises focused on this area running from the Georgia Dome and “Gulch” on the west to the State Capitol and Capitol Gateway on the east.

The meeting, moderated by Otis White, Civic Strategies Inc. and Jon Abercrombie, Common Focus, provided stakeholders the opportunity to learn more about the corridor, share ideas for its future and provide direction for potential catalytic next steps.  Presentations by national experts also provided food for thought as participants were challenged to think big about the future of this critical area of Downtown Atlanta.

Meeting organizers will compile all of the input provided during the forum and synthesize the information into a meeting report that will identify next steps.  The meeting report will be delivered to all meeting participants and posted on this website upon completion.
