The Atlanta Downtown Ambassador Force

Be a member of the Atlanta Downtown Ambassador Force. The Ambassador Force of Downtown Atlanta is a full-time, 60 person private hospitality and public safety force that patrols a 200-block area from North Avenue, south to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, and from the Georgia World Congress Center east to the Downtown Connector. The Ambassador Force interacts directly with all constituents of Downtown, to include conventioneers, tourists, special event attendees, Downtown workers, and residents. They serve as the eyes and ears of the business community and Downtown law enforcement agencies. They perform these functions while providing customer service, information, and an authoritative presence.

Description:

Ambassadors must be team oriented, physically fit, comfortable assisting people in a diverse environment, and possess effective communication skills. Communication skills desired include speaking clearly (bilinguals desired), giving precise directions, describing events and venues, and effectively using radio communications.

Qualifications

Ambassadors must: possess a minimum high school diploma or equivalent to be considered; successfully complete a criminal history check; submit to a psychological/personality test; initial and random substance abuse tests; have stable work history with references; and successfully complete the DID training course.

Pay:
Pay starts at $11.00 per hour with progressive upward mobility. Benefits include paid vacation, holidays and sick leave, health insurance, workman’s compensation, life insurance, 401K plan, and free rides onpublic transportation while in uniform. Uniforms (inluding cleaning and upkeep) are provided.
