Atlanta Dream to Host First Preseason Game on May 3

The Atlanta Dream will host the Los Angeles Sparks at Philips Arena for its first preseason game on Saturday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. 
All tickets will be $10 and doors will open one hour prior to the start of the game. 

The Atlanta Dream recently drafted 13 players in the Expansion Draft, which took place on February 6.  The free agency signing period will be completed this month, the college draft will take place in early April and training camp will begin April 20.

Lisa Leslie will be returning to the Sparks bench this season after taking maternity leave in 2007.  The Los Angeles Sparks also currently have the first round draft pick in April’s college draft.  The Atlanta Dream will pick eighth. 

The Atlanta Dream was officially announced as the 14th team in the WNBA on October 17, 2007. The Dream will begin play in May 2008 at Philips Arena, joining the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Detroit Shock, Indiana Fever, New York Liberty and Washington Mystics in the Eastern Conference. The team will tip-off in its first regular season home game on Friday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. against defending Eastern Conference Champions the Detroit Shock. For information and to purchase season tickets for Atlanta’s 2008 season, fans can call (404) 604-2626 or visit www.AtlantaDream.net. E-mail inquiries should be sent to tickets@atlantadream.net.
