Flexcar Brings New Flexibility in Downtown

Flexcar, a leader in internet-based car sharing, will launch in Downtown at SunTrust Lunch on Broad. Flexcar has partnered with Atlanta-based Lanier Parking Systems to bring this new transportation alternative to Downtown as well as Midtown. Flexcar members save hundreds of dollars each month by paying to use a car rather than paying to own a car.  Vehicles can be reserved online or by phone and usage costs start around $9 an hour including gas, insurance, parking and unlimited mileage. Flexcars are spaced throughout Downtown and Midtown so that members often have several cars available close to where they live or work.

Flexcar’s service complements the work that Central Atlanta Progress and the Downtown Transportation Management Association (TMA) is doing to encourage transportation alternatives in the Downtown area. Each car share vehicle can replace up to 15 private cars on the road so members are helping to reduce emissions and ease congestion.
