The Guinness OysterFest Returns to Woodruff Park
Dave FM is proud to present the Guinness OysterFest at Woodruff Park on
Saturday, November 3rd from 1pm – 11pm. Guests can feast on fresh oysters, drink perfect pints of Guinness Beer,
participate in an oyster shucking contest, and play old-fashioned carnival midway games, all while kicking back with live
music from 90s alternative bands The Lemonheads and Soul Asylum.
“Fall is officially here, and we are giving Atlanta one more reason to get outside and enjoy it,” said Will Davis, Director of
Marketing, 929 Dave FM. “It’s not just a music festival, and it’s not just a food festival – it’s a great fall festival that everyone
over 21 in the city can enjoy.”
• Oysters, oysters and even more oysters – It’s the OysterFest so of course there will definitely be ample fresh
oysters for everyone. Attendees can have them roasted, grilled and even in a stew. Organizers assure attendees
that the oysters will be fresh, flash cooked and properly stored to offer optimal safety.
• Perfect pints of Guinness Beer – enough said.
• Live music from The Lemonheads and Soul Asylum – If you’re a child of the 90s, you know The Lemonheads and
Soul Asylum. Attendees will get a chance to enjoy the rare treat of revisiting these fan favorites.
• Carnival games – No fall festival is complete without carnival midway games. Boyfriends from throughout the city
will enjoy attempting the impossible task of knocking down the blasted cans or tossing tiny rings around huge
bottles in hopes of winning a giant bear for their lady friends.
• Oyster shucking contest – Are you a crazy oyster shucking fool? Show off your shucking talents in this contest and
you can win great prizes from 929 Dave FM.
“As the city continues to grow, so has the demand for new fun-filled events. The Guinness OysterFest fulfills this demand
by providing Atlantans over 21 with an exciting event complete with cold beer, great food, cool music, and much more,”
said Rob Frazer, Vice President of Premier Events, who is producing and organizing the event.
Discounted tickets will be available for pre-purchase at www.929dave.fm for $10 beginning Thursday, October 18th. Tickets
will also be sold at the door for $12. The organizers would like to thank its sponsors: Guinness, Jack Daniels Tennessee
Whisky and AT&T Real Yellow Pages.
As always, organizers and sponsors ask attendees to “please drink responsibly.”
