Superheroes Scale the Equitable Building
Friday morning, October 26, a corp of superheroes will scale the Equitable Building in Downtown Atlanta. The superheroes will be suspended 33 stories above ground around 10:30-10:45 a.m. as they replace the lights in the building’s signature Equitable sign.
Judi Sponsel, Vice President/Group Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle, the property’s management firm, arranged for this creative spin on a routine maintenance task. “I thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the season and entertain our tenants,” said Sponsel. The Equitable Building, a 620,000-square-foot downtown landmark property, is owned by San Diego-based Equastone. Jones Lang LaSalle provides management and leasing for the Class A property.
Located at 100 Peachtree Street overlooking Woodruff Park and the State Capitol Building in the heart of Atlanta’s Central Business District, The Equitable Building was one of Atlanta's first true skyscrapers when it was completed in the late 1960s. The building was designed by legendary architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, which also designed the Sears Tower in Chicago and the Bank of America Building in San Francisco. To increase the appeal of the property, Equastone, plans significant upgrades to the property over the next year, including an investment of over $4 million for a complete renovation of the lobby and common areas, modernization of the elevator and mechanical systems and enhancements to the exterior. |
