200 Peachtree Names New Manager of Social Sales

March 16,2010

Hospitality veteran Allison Schultz has been appointed manager of social sales for 200 Peachtree, Atlanta’s newest and only “green” special-events venue in downtown Atlanta.

Opened in 1927 as Davisons department store, the vintage Italian Renaissance building in the heart of downtown was renovated by Macy’s in the 1980s. Schultz will manage all the venues’ social sales initiatives after presiding over its grand opening in spring 2010. The historic renovation will convert the spacious interior into retail, exhibit and special event space, as well as hosting two new restaurants.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to bring new life to an Atlanta icon where so many local memories have been made,” said Allison Schultz, manager of social sales for 200 Peachtree. “The celebrations we will host will extend that cherished tradition into a new generation.”

Schultz comes to 200 Peachtree after helming her independent hospitality consulting firm, Finer Points. Prior to founding her firm in 2002, Schultz served as the banquet manager at the Capital City Country Club, one of Atlanta’s oldest equity firms. She later made the shift from operations to sales, joining the ClubCorp Family as the private events director of the Buckhead Club for nearly a decade.

“Allison brings an abundance of hospitality experience to the 200 Peachtree team,” said Robert Patterson, president of 200 Peachtree. “Her excellent managerial skills, creativity and passion will be a great asset in the grand opening of this historic venue.”

Since joining the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) in 2001, Schultz has been active on the Greater Atlanta board which included serving three terms as chapter president. Within the NACE Schultz has been involved in the organizations Allie Awards, a program which recognizes outstanding examples of quality and creativity in Atlanta’s event industry and demonstrates how working together for a common good can promote excellence in event design, planning, and production. While Schultz has chaired the awards and entries committee, she also has been awarded Allies for Most Creative Venue and Outstanding Achievement in Logistical Planning as well as the NACE Event Design Trends top prize in 2008.

The Grand Atrium at 200 Peachtree will be the first special events facility in Atlanta to incorporate green practices into special event execution. 200 Peachtree recycles glass, plastics, paper, and cardboard boxes from the bars, caterers, and vendors. Construction began in August that will transform the 85-year old department store into an elegant event space.
