Annual Meeting on Horizon for Central Atlanta Progress

February 21,2013

Central Atlanta Progress (CAP) and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) will host its 2013 Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 28 at the Georgia World Congress Center’s Sidney Marcus Auditorium. Kicking off at 7:00 a.m., the breakfast event brings together more than 1,100 of the city’s top executives, elected officials and community partners, and will mark CAP’s 72nd year of serving Downtown Atlanta.

With the theme “Extraordinary Vision, Real-life Results” CAP’s Annual Meeting will showcase the myriad of accomplishments the organization has realized in the past year. From its involvement in the Atlanta Streetcar Project to erecting a new, sustainable playground in Woodruff Park, CAP/ADID is behind many of the initiatives that make Downtown Atlanta an attractive prospect for investors and residents alike.

“This year we look forward to telling CAP/ADID’s story and how our organization is committed to and involved with virtually every facet of the central city,” said CAP/ADID President A.J. Robinson. “We will once again present an entertaining yet informative program that will resonate with attendees.”

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will provide remarks at the event, which will also honor the careers and achievements of two exemplary citizens. Ann Cramer, recently retired from IBM Corporation, will receive the Dan Sweat Award, and Georgia State University’s Dr. Clifford Kuhn is the recipient of the Turner Downtown Community Leadership Award.
