Arts Entrepreneurship Center Opens in Downtown Atlanta

November 27,2012

Atlanta-based non-profit arts service organization, C4 Atlanta Inc., announced the opening of its Arts Entrepreneurship Center in Downtown Atlanta’s M. Rich Building. C4 Atlanta chose this site for the Center following an introduction made by the office of Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall to Melbourne, Australia-based property investment firm The Creations Group. Located near the intersection of Peachtree Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., the M. Rich Building is known to some Atlantans as the original Rich’s Department Store.

“The M. Rich Building is a Downtown treasure. I’m excited to see C4 Atlanta become part of the revitalization of Downtown Atlanta,” said Kwanza Hall. “When arts organizations and businesses collaborate, the result is a better community. Downtown Atlanta is the perfect place for C4 Atlanta’s arts entrepreneurship programming.”

“We’re very excited to have C4 Atlanta as an anchor tenant in the M. Rich Building,” said Collin Brown, spokesman for The Creations Group. “We see Downtown Atlanta as a new creative center for the region, where arts and technology flourish together under one roof.”

The Center will operate in the same spirit as a co-working facility, but for the arts community. The facility will include space for offices, studios, classes, rehearsals, exhibitions and events. Artists will also enjoy access to C4 Atlanta’s professional development programming at the Center.

“Arts Entrepreneurship sits at the core of C4 Atlanta’s mission and programming,” said Jessyca Holland, executive director of C4 Atlanta. “This Center is the next logical step to seeing artists fulfill their creative and financial goals.”

C4 Atlanta Inc. is a non-profit arts service organization whose mission is to connect arts entrepreneurs to the people, skills and tools they need to build a successful artistic career in metro Atlanta. The organization was founded in July 2010 in response to a growing need for business services for Atlanta’s arts community. C4 Atlanta’s initial program offerings are geared toward creating a new foundation of sustainability for arts and culture in the Atlanta region.
