Atlanta City Council Proclaims July 15 Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week Day

July 18,2013

Leading up to the 11th annual Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week, Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall issued a formal proclamation on July 15, recognizing the impact the culinary event has made on the Downtown community.

Joining Central Atlanta Progress at the proclamation ceremony were several Downtown Restaurant Week participants, including: Hilton Atlanta, representing Trader Vic’s; Atlanta Center for Self-Sufficiency’s Café 458; the Luckie Marietta District’s Legacy Restaurant Group; and Pittypat’s Porch.

“We thank Central Atlanta Progress and all of the participating Downtown restaurants for contributing to our city’s vibrancy with this unique event,” said Hall. “Each year, Downtown Restaurant Week showcases the many talents and varieties our restaurants have to offer at a price that everyone can enjoy.”

This year’s Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week is the largest yet, with a record 41 restaurants participating. From Saturday, July 27 through Sunday, August 4, diners can experience the wide variety of flavors Downtown serves up, with restaurants offering $15, $25 and $35 brunch, lunch and dinner menus (excluding tax and gratuity).

“Central Atlanta Progress appreciates the support and recognition from our Atlanta City Councilmembers and is pleased to receive this special honor,” said Wilma Sothern, Vice President of Marketing at Central Atlanta Progress.

Sponsors for Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week include BMW, Celebrity Cruises, The Coca-Cola Company, OpenTable, Savannah Distributing and Trianon Tequila. Downtown Restaurant Week is produced by Central Atlanta Progress in partnership with The Reynolds Group and the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
