CCT, GCT, Xpress Downtown Atlanta Bus Services Change

February 24,2012

Beginning Monday, March 5, 27 express commuter coach routes provided by the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) Xpress, Cobb Community Transit (CCT), and Gwinnett County Transit (GCT) serving Downtown Atlanta will move to new routing alignments.

The new stops associated with the new routing alignments, as well as current stops being retained, will be marked with multi-colored BUS signs combining Xpress, CCT and GCT logos and information.

Routes serving the midtown Atlanta, Buckhead, and Perimeter areas will not be affected.

The routing changes are the result of long standing plans to remove significant bus operations from Peachtree Street and consolidate service in other locations. In addition, the early implementation of this plan will accommodate the beginning of construction and future operation of the Atlanta Streetcar.

The new routes will travel on the east side of Downtown using primarily Courtland Street/Washington Street and Peachtree Center Avenue/Central Avenue and on the west side using a combination of Spring Street, Marietta Street and Centennial Olympic Park Drive.

Previously, the routes used Peachtree Street as their primary north and south corridor between Edgewood Avenue and Ivan Allen Boulevard.

Once the Streetcar begins service, Xpress riders will be able to use the Streetcar for expanded access to key destinations in Downtown Atlanta.

Those needing more information and revised routes schedules should visit the Xpress website at www.XpressGa.com.
