Coke celebrates 125th with Concert on May 7

Atlanta-based The Coca-Cola Co. will celebrate its 125th anniversary with numerous events around the world, including a May 7 festival at Pemberton Place in Downtown Atlanta for hometown employees and their families. Atlanta celeb Ryan Seacrest will host, and Atlanta resident R&B artist NeYo will perform a concert along with other artists.

The Coca-Cola 125th Anniversary Concert, which will include musicians from Somalia, New Zealand, and Britain, also features U.S. artists Grammy award-winning singer and American Idol season one winner Kelly Clarkson, and Grammy-nominated pop star Natasha Bedingfield. The concert will be streamed online as a live “thank you” to people throughout the world, with integration through social media including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, according to a Coke statement. The actual event is not open to the public.

Muhtar Kent, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Coca-Cola Company, said in the release the company will celebrate its birthday by thanking people around the world who have made the brand what it is today.
