Der Biergarten Lights Up the Luckie Marietta District with Festive Holiday Traditions

November 8,2012

Der Biergarten brings back its popular holiday decorations this year, dubbed “Lights in the Luckie Marietta District,” and rings in the yuletide season with its third Nikolaustag Holiday Celebration.

Starting on November 19, Atlanta’s premier German restaurant and beer garden will transform into a sensational winter wonderland, dripping with miles of garland and lights, nearly 10,000 ornaments, two life-size nutcrackers and 26 Christmas trees. Whether treating the family to a festive evening out, creating a cozy date night or throwing a company party, Der Biergarten has the perfect atmosphere for celebrating the season with a unique and memorable holiday experience.

On Thursday, December 6 and Saturday, December 8, Der Biergarten will host its third annual Nikolaustag Holiday Celebrations—open to the public—complete with games, music and drink specials. Guests enjoy $8 liters of draft Krombacher Pilsner and Warsteiner Dunkle and $5 glühwein (warm German wine). Stein Club members receive 50 percent off of their individual tabs as well. Santa Claus will make an appearance on Thursday to party with the adults, and on Saturday, to make the kiddies’ wishes come true. There will be a DJ spinning tunes on Friday night and equally as merry entertainment on Saturday. Join in the reindeer games, like hide the pickle on the patio—a German tradition, where a pickle ornament is hidden on the tree for prizes, during both celebrations.
