Downtown for the Holidays

November 22,2011

Central Atlanta Progress and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District present “Downtown for the Holidays,” a wintertime promotion featuring 50 days of holiday music, performances, parades and much more! From November 19 through January 3, Downtown Atlanta will be hopping with family-friendly holiday activity at its many attractions.

Whether you’re a longtime resident or visiting Atlanta for the first time, Downtown Atlanta has something sure to please everyone throughout the holiday season. This year brings even more festive fun, with the addition of Christmas on Peachtree at 200 Peachtree. Kicking off on Nov. 25, this newest holiday celebration features a Symphony of Lights, a life-size toy train and much more!

The Atlanta Ballet’s Nutcracker at The Fox Theater is a holiday tradition spanning more than 50 years, and the New Year’s Eve Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta is the only place in Atlanta to ring in 2012 with style! Whichever Downtown venue you visit this holiday season, you can get there quickly and safely by utilizing MARTA or by taking advantage of Downtown’s many accessible parking lots and garages.

Take the guesswork out of holiday entertaining with CAP/ADID’s comprehensive guide to Downtown Atlanta. While you’re on your Downtown Holiday Adventure, enjoy a delicious meal in the Downtown Dining District, which includes more than 300 eateries.
