Phillips Arena Hosts Green Business Conference and Expo

The Green Business Conference and Expo (GBE 2013), is coming to Atlanta on August 23 and 24.  This gathering features two days of exciting events which includes green tours, an awards ceremony, training, educational workshops and an interactive expo floor.

The primary activities are scheduled for August 24, 2013 at Philips Arena from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.  Philips Arena is the venue of choice due to its special designation as the World’s first LEED® Certified Arena.  Attending the event will be Sustainable Manufacturers, Suppliers, Investors, Green Businesses, Experts, Government Officials, Policy Makers, Sustainable Officers, Service Providers, Urban Agriculturist, Educators and Consumers.

Event highlights:
Kick off events on August 23, 2013 include green tours around the city, a day trip to Serenbe, a 1,000 acre sustainable community, and a LEED Green Associates Training Class at Atlanta Technical College from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. In addition, a reception and awards ceremony will be held to honor those with an exceptional commitment to sustainability.

On August 24, 2013, the Green Business Conference & Expo will feature a world class expo floor and breakout sessions with industry experts on the topics of Mainstreaming Sustainability, Renewable Energy, The Importance of Green Buildings, Urban Agriculture, Green funding and grant opportunities, Operating a Sustainable Business and much more.

Don’t forget to record your “60 seconds on Sustainability” in IKEA’s VIP Lounge and watch Interior Designers race to win the IKEA White Box Challenge with recyclable and sustainable materials. Green Companies needing capital can pitch their ideas to investors and potential clients all at the Green Business Conference & Expo in Atlanta.

Featuring: 
Atlanta City Council President Caesar Mitchell and Denise Quarles, Director of Sustainability with the City of Atlanta, during the morning session. Also present will be city representatives from the metro area’s county and other local government agencies.

Supporting the GBE 2013 is the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, Fulton County Economic Development Division, Southface, Atlanta City Council, the WBNA Atlanta Dream, Central Atlanta Progress, IKEA, Atlanta Technical College and many more.

A special end of the day highlight will be a networking event at the Atlanta Dream game with VIP seating for special guests and supporters.
