Section of Edgewood Avenue Closed to Thru Traffic
Monday, October 15, 2012 until Thursday, October 18, 2012

Edgewood Avenue between Fort Street and William H. Borders Sr. Drive will be closed for thru traffic beginning Monday, October 15, 2012 until Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day for Comcast and AT&T utility activities.

Edgewood Avenue will remain open for local and pedestrian traffic allowing access to local businesses.

The City of Atlanta will post the following alternate routes for traffic use for Edgewood Avenue between Fort Street and William H. Borders Sr. Drive.

Detour Directions:

West on Edgewood Avenue

  • Turn right onto Jackson Street
  • Continue onto Auburn Avenue
  • Turn left onto Auburn Avenue continue on Auburn Avenue to Bell Street
  • Turn left on Bell Street and right on Edgewood Avenue 
  • End of Detour

East on Edgewood Avenue

  • Turn left on Fort Street to Auburn Avenue
  • Turn right on Auburn Avenue and continue on Auburn Ave to Jackson Street
  • Turn right onto Jackson Street and turn left onto Edgewood Avenue
  • End of Detour

North on Hilliard Street

  • Turn right onto Tanner Street
  • Turn left onto William H. Borders Sr. Drive
  • Turn right onto Chamberlain Street
  • Turn left onto Jackson Street
  • Turn right onto Edgewood Avenue
  • End of Detour

Travelers are encouraged to use I-20 from I-285 reach to Downtown events and to access Downtown and to bypass Downtown around the Edgewood Avenue area.
