Sweet Auburn Curb Market to Open on Sundays Starting Sept 13

Due to the growing success of the Atlanta Streetcar, the Municipal Market, also known as the Sweet Auburn Curb Market is expanding its public hours to include Sunday afternoons.

The market is located on the Streetcar route at 209 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA, 30303, and features a stop directly across the street from the entrance.  Current hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Sunday hours will be 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Sunday hours are an historic first for the Municipal Market, which opened in May of 1924 After-church crowds, residents, students and visitors alike can take advantage of a diverse a delicious selection of eateries for a late morning brunch, afternoon lunch, or even grab a variety of treats to take home.

Along with an assortment of exceptional restaurants, Sweet Auburn Bakery, a full service bakery and coffee shop, Miss D’s New Orleans Pralines and Popcorn, and SnoBayou Handcrafted Snoballs will be on hand to offer a treat to take home or to linger over with a cup of Café Campesino coffee.

A variety of entertainment will be a part of the Sunday experience. In addition to live music, the market will broadcast football games on the big screen in the food court, feature open mic, as well as a variety of local performers.

According to Market manager Pamela Joiner, ““Since the Atlanta Streetcar began operations, the number of Market visitors, has significantly increased, which has made a tremendous impact on the small businesses who operate inside the Market.”

Note: As a special incentive for visitors who may not ride the Streetcar, the Market will offer parking validations for two free hours on Sundays. (Monday-Saturday parking is free for one hour.)
