Andy Ditzler's Film Love series continues with a tribute to avant garde filmmaker Robert Nelson (1930-2012). The films Nelson made in 1960s San Francisco are enduring records of artistic friendship, with an intuitive anarchic humor that still sparkles today. The titles of his films – Thick Pucker, Hot Leatherette, The Great Blondino, and Sixty Lazy Dogs – give a sense of his poetic, freewheeling absurdity.
