A streetcar is in Atlanta’s future, in the meantime get into the spirit by enjoying an Absolut®Rickshaw! Central Atlanta Progress has unveiled the 2011 Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week (DARW) Signature Cocktail: The Absolut®Rickshaw. Sure to be an “Absolut” hit, the newly created apple and ginger infused spirit will make its long awaited debut on May 28, kicking off the beginning of Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week. For one lip-smacking week only, restaurant patrons will be able to order this tasty new libation at any participating DARW restaurant.

Lucky guests at the recent Atlanta Restaurant Weeks Tasting Party, held at Loews Atlanta Hotel, got a sneak peek at the signature cocktail. While sampling the apple-ginger flavored cocktail and snacking on delectable treats from several participating Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead restaurants, they had the chance to nominate choices for its unique name.

“We are thrilled to again bring an event that does such a wonderful job showcasing so many of the amazing restaurants Downtown Atlanta has to offer,” said A.J. Robinson, president of Central Atlanta Progress/Atlanta Downtown Improvement District. “Each year the signature drink and restaurant menus get more and more creative and this summer will be no different. The Absolut® Rickshaw will go perfectly with all the menu options, so make a reservation and try it!”

2 oz.        Absolut Orient Apple
½ oz.       Cranberry Juice
2 oz.        Ginger Ale
Serve over ice
