Whether school has started or you are soaking up the last bits of your summer break, it's another busy, eclectic and exciting weekend in Downtown, and here are a few highlights (event descriptions provided by venues):
1. Programs and Offers, Georgia Aquarium
Sips Under the Sea is a unique cocktail party for adults to enjoy Georgia Aquarium after hours with your family, friends or significant other. You'll have the entire Aquarium to yourself while enjoying cocktails, tapas and entertainment… all without kids! Tickets for tonight's event are sold out, so stay tuned for details about upcoming Sips events, and don't forget about the Imagination Nights discounted ticket offer for those who visit the Aquarium after 4:00 p.m., as well as the Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea exhibit.
2. International Youth Day, Center for Civil and Human Rights
Join the Center for Civil and Human Rights as we welcome the return of the 2016-2017 academic school year, with International Youth Day! There will be a special performance from Moving in the Spirit Dance Company, Human Rights Scavenger Hunt (All Day) and a hands-on craft that speaks to the necessity of Human Rights for all children. Lastly, enter for a chance to win a loaded back-pack, full of school supplies, just in time for the school year! All activities will take place from 11:00-2:00 PM. 3. National Lefty Day, College Football Hall of Fame
Join us for National Lefthanders Day as we celebrate lefty Hall of Famers like Steve Young, Frankie Albert and Terry Baker! Get $5 off your ticket by completing our outdoor QB challenge with only your left hand. Guests must arrive at our box office during normal business hours to participate in the promotion.
4. Passport Experience Festival, Centennial Olympic Park
Passport Experience Festival returns Saturday, August 13 to Centennial Olympic Park! PXP Fest is the first truly international music festival which caters to all ethnicities & highlights all genres of music including but not limited to Afrobeat, Hip Hop, Reggae, Soca, EDM & Latin Pop.
