#BeDowntown for These Weekend Events: July 22-24

We’ve got a great lineup of weekend events, especially for art and food lovers. Check out these reasons to Be Downtown:

  1. Party in the Park with DJ Mike Brown ft. Mr. Bell, Woodruff Park

If you haven’t already, come on out to Woodruff Park on Friday, June 22, 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for another round of Party in the Park. Under the shade of Woodruff Park’s gazebo, DJ Mike Brown spins funk and retro tunes, accompanied by Mr. Bell on the mic (and cowbell). This free event is open to all and includes dancing contests, trivia, prizes and more.

  1. ELEVATE: Summer, South Downtown

The first step toward making ELEVATE a year-round event, the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs will host ELEVATE: Summer on Friday, June 22 from 3:00 – 11:00 p.m. on Broad St. SW. An event packed with art, dance, music, markets, and food trucks, the schedule includes a few Poetry Slam, Inc.’s National Poetry Slam Georgia groups, Uma Pulendran from Natya Dhaara Center for Performing Arts, ArtbyAjmal, Mausiki Scales & the Common Ground Collective, Speakerfoxxx & BOSCO and a variety of art installations from South Downtown’s many arts organizations and galleries.
