August Streetcar Experience: Park Place Stop

Just in time for the end of summer and the beginning of the fall semester, here’s what to explore around the Park Place stop—especially if you’re a GSU Panther. Share your #StreetcarExperience posts for this month and beyond!

EVENTS

Skip the traffic and take the Streetcar to these special August events in the park:

Tuesdays, through August 16: free, open-to-all chess tournaments, hosted by the Georgia Chess Association, 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Wednesdays, through August 10: free yoga in Woodruff Park, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Namaste the Downtown way.

Fridays in August: Party in the Park with DJ Mike Brown, 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Enjoy retro hits, dance competitions and more.

August 20: Leave your car at home and ride the Streetcar to the German Bierfest in Woodruff Park.

August 26-27: Take the Streetcar to the film screenings and musical performances at the Atlanta LGBT Film & Music Festival.

Enjoy the lawn of Woodruff Park, directly behind the Streetcar stop. Learn more about the ways to have fun in the center city’s green space.

Use the Park Place cycle track to get around once you hop off the Atlanta Streetcar.

Check out the shiny new Walgreens in the Olympia Building.
Grab some daily essentials at 7 to 7 Newsstand or the Mak News kiosk (by the Phoenix Rising statue).

Shop for a new outfit at Walter’s Clothing or Style Craft.
Swap or shop at Jerry’s Pawn Shop.

Get your daily dose of caffeine from the friendly folks at Ebrik Coffee Room.

Grab snacks and standbys at Weekday Café or Grab N Go.
