Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the difference between the 5K and the Stroll?
A. The routes are exactly the same, however, the 5K Run the Rails is for those who want an RFID “chip” timing device and to be included in the awards and results. The Streetcar Stroll is for those who want to be a part of the event but prefer to preview the route at their own pace.

Q. Will Streetcars be running during the race?
A. No. The rails are laid but Atlanta Streetcars will not be active during the event.

Q. Is there prize money for winning?
A. No. This is a ceremonial event to celebrate the launch of the new Atlanta Streetcar. It has been 65 years (1949) since the last one ran in Atlanta, and 125 (1889) since the first one did!

Q.  Do I have to sign up online?
A. Yes. Paper applications will not be available but if the event does not sell out (although we fully expect it to) we will have forms to fill out the morning of the race for a higher entrance fee.
