In 2015, CAP/ADID commissioned a study that would examine the potential development of a casino gaming attraction in Atlanta or elsewhere in Georgia and determine its ultimate impact to the State as well as local communities, specifically Downtown.

Study Findings

CAP/ADID selected the team of Horwath HTL and HLT Advisory to complete the work, which was finalized in May 2016.  The study’s scope of work included high-level estimates of the Georgia and Metro Atlanta gaming markets, spending by Georgians at out-of-state casinos, effect of gaming on tourism and new visitors, impact on state lotteries, as well as other State and local objectives for legalizing gaming and related outcomes.
