America's Got Talent - Atlanta Auditions

February 18,2010

What can you do in 90 seconds? Can you turn your eyelids inside out using no hands? Or maybe jumping through rings of fire and landing on a liger is more your speed. Are you a stay-at-home mom, doctor, or student by day and a hobbyist by night? Whether it involves dancing, playing multiple instruments simultaneously, juggling dangerous objects, crazy pet tricks or just holding a record for doing something extremely rare, ‘America’s Got Talent’ wants to see you!

The open call for Atlanta is this weekend at AmericasMart in Downtown Atlanta.

NBC’s hit series, “America’s Got Talent”, has begun its nationwide search for the hottest and most unique performers to compete in season 5 of the number one talent competition series. The show kicked off its auditions in October with stops in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York City and will continue through Spring 2010.

Open to any talent of any age, “America’s Got Talent” offers a unique chance for anyone to perform on a nationwide variety show. Contestants are encouraged to pre-register at http://www.AGTauditions.com. By pre-registering, contestants will be kept up-to-date with the most current information.

This season the search for talent will be bigger and more extensive than ever with the largest audition events in the show’s history. Producers will be looking for talent of all kinds – musicians, dance crews, magicians, contortionists, comedians, singers, jugglers, animal acts and everything in between, from all walks of life – to perform on-stage competing for America’s votes, a headline show in Las Vegas and a million-dollar prize. Singing chicken farmer Kevin Skinner, of Mayfield, Kentucky, was recently crowned the winner of Season 4. The win moved the humble country singer to tears. “I’ve always loved to perform,” he said, “I want to go out there and give ’em the best show I can.” Skinner took home the show’s
million-dollar prize and headlined “America’s Got Talent Live,” hosted by Jerry Springer at the Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas.

Howie Mandel (“Deal or No Deal”) will join NBC’s hit summer series “America’s Got Talent” as a new judge when the competition reality program returns for its fifth season this summer. Mandel will join returning judges Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan along with host Nick Cannon.

“America’s Got Talent” is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Television. Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz (“American Idol”), Jason Raff (“Clash of the Choirs”) Ken Warwick (“American Idol”) and Georgie Hurford-Jones (“Britain’s Got Talent”) serve as executive producers.
