Atlanta United FC moves into its new home at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 10,  at 3:30 p.m. with a match against FC Dallas. Single game day tickets are sold out, but you can get resale tickets via Ticketmaster or buy purchasing season tickets. You can find out more at this link.

This will be the first opportunity for fans to see Mercedes-Benz Stadium configured into its soccer arrangement, which includes giant mechanized curtains that hide the upper seating area and retractable seating to widen the field into a soccer pitch.

Atlanta United’s early games have filled Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium to capacity, with league-leading attendance at more than 46,000 fans. Those curtains to cover the extra seats may not be needed for long.

There will also be a day of soccer fun in the Centennial Park District, which is just a short walk from the stadium. Here are some of the events planned:

· 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.: Soccer fan meet-up in the Centennial Park District at soccer hub, Der Biergarten.  Fans are invited to cheer on their hometown team while watching from one of the many flat screen TVs. Fans can also participate in outdoor activities, like giant beer pong and other yard games.

· 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.: Game-X will host an evening of high-tech and classic arcade games along with pub food and drunks.

· 10 p.m.: The district’s hotel bars will be open so fans can celebrate their team’s victories or drown their sorrows.

MARTA is encouraging soccer fans to take the train to the match to avoid traffic. You can plan your route at this link.
