Be Downtown for the 74th Central Atlanta Progress Annual Meeting

Central Atlanta Progress (CAP) and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) will host their 2015 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 31 at the Georgia World Congress Center’s Sidney Marcus Auditorium. Kicking off at 7:00 am, the breakfast event will bring together more than 1,100 of the city’s top executives, elected officials and community partners and will mark CAP’s 74th year of serving Downtown Atlanta.
With the theme “Downtown is on the Move”, CAP’s Annual Meeting will showcase the myriad of accomplishments the organization has realized in the past year and will take a look at the people, places and businesses that are shaping Downtown's bright and exciting future. With the city's only streetcar, a vibrant urban environment, convenient access, walkable streets, attractive public spaces and Atlanta's most robust internet infrastructure, it's no surprise that more and more businesses, young professionals, attractions and entertainment brands are choosing to Be Downtown.
“As we enter into a period of incredible growth and investment in our central city, CAP’s work to champion a vibrant, attractive, clean and safe Downtown is more critical than ever,” said CAP/ADID President A.J. Robinson. “At this year’s Annual Meeting, we look forward to showcasing the changing face of Downtown and demonstrating how CAP will catalyze ongoing investment, and foster public-private partnerships, to leverage the positive activity happening in Downtown.”
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will provide remarks at the event, which will also honor the achievements of two exemplary citizens. Bill Bolling, Founder and Executive Director of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, will receive the Dan Sweat Award and First Step Staffing Founder Greg Block will be given the Turner Downtown Community Leadership Award.
