From ATL Downtown: From May 13-17, Central Atlanta Progress's Downtown Connects team will host the Downtown Walk Challenge, a free challenge and scavenger hunt that encourages participants to explore Downtown Atlanta by foot for a chance to earn prizes.

With a Walk Score of 90, Atlanta's urban core is remarkably pedestrian-friendly. This, paired with the pleasant spring weather, offers those who live, work, and play in Downtown a chance to explore their surroundings and hopefully discover something new about the neighborhood.

Central Atlanta Progress's Downtown Connects team works with Downtown employees, property managers, and commuters to provide solutions to ease congestion during peak commute times, reduce pollution, and improve the commute experience. For those who incorporate walking into their daily commute, Downtown Connects offers personalized route planning support and can help commuters access cash incentives through a partnership with Georgia Commute Options.

"We work each day to promote the many ways to get to and from Downtown Atlanta that qualify as 'clean commutes,'" said Jen Farris, Downtown Connects Transportation Outreach Coordinator. "Our goal with the Walk Challenge is to highlight Downtown's walkability and encourage people to incorporate walking into their daily Downtown routine."

For anyone interested in participating in the 5-day Downtown Walk Challenge, the process is simple: download the free Scavify app on your mobile device, search for and join the "Downtown Walk Challenge" hunt, and stay engaged with daily notifications, trivia questions, and riddles that lead you to unique Downtown destinations.

Winners are eligible for a range of prizes, include Atlanta United match tickets, a gift card to Downtown's Walter's Clothing, a FitBit device, and much more.
