Central Atlanta Progress Wins 2013 Downtown Merit Award from IDA for "The Real Downtown" Video

During its World Congress & 59th Annual Conference the International Downtown Association recognized Central Atlanta Progress with a Downtown Merit Award for its work related to “The Real Downtown”. 

“The Real Downtown” promotional video, showcasing a day in the life of Downtown workers, residents, and students, was among 9 qualified entries in the category of Marketing and Communication.  This category highlights plans or strategies that used print, electronic media, or multimedia efforts to promote downtown and further the value of city centers.

“’The Real Downtown’ video accurately portrays a typical day in our bustling neighborhood,” AJ Robinson, President of CAP said in the news release.   “Featuring a number of amenities that are unique to Downtown, -- transit options, walkability, arts and entertainment venues and a variety of dining options, the video is a great promotional tool for us.”

“Central Atlanta Progress’ project received the IDA Merit Award for delivering excellence in downtown management,” said David Downey, IDA President and CEO.  “Each year the IDA Awards Jury recognizes organizations that utilize best practices in our industry.  ‘The Real Downtown’ is a shining example of excellent downtown management that delivers real results.”

The Washington, D.C. based International Downtown Association (IDA) is a champion for vital and livable urban centers and strives to inform, influence, and inspire downtown leaders and advocates.  With 550 members and thousands of friends, IDA is a guiding force in creating healthy and dynamic centers that anchor the well-being of towns, cities, and regions.

Central Atlanta Progress is the advocacy and management organization representing the interests of property owners in downtown Atlanta and is a member of the International Downtown Association.
