De La Soul, Wiz Khalifa highlight the 2015 installation of A3C Festival and Conference

October 6,2015

For its 10th anniversary last year, the A3C Festival and Conference welcomed high-profile hip-hop acts such as Talib Kweli, The Roots’ Black Thought, 2 Chainz, B.o.B., Jermaine Dupri and Twista.

This year, 2 Chainz will return for the five-day festival (Oct. 7-11), and he’ll be joined by another parade of musical luminaries at the Festival Grounds in the Old 4th Ward (Edgewood Avenue and Boulevard) including De La Soul, Wiz Khalifa, Rakim, Young Dro, Cam’ron, Beanie Sigel, Boncrusher, Pastor Troy and the Dungeon Family (Big Gipp, Cool Breeze and Backbone).

While the Festival Grounds will keep the beat flowing on Friday (4-11 p.m.), Saturday (2-11 p.m.) and Sunday (2-9 p.m.), more than 50 showcases will take place Wednesday through Saturday at an array of venues along the Atlanta Streetcar line in the Old 4th Ward and East Atlanta Village.

For many attendees, A3C, which drew more than 35,000 attendees last year, is solely about the music. But those interested in networking and music education might want to check out the A3C Conference, which offers panels on artist development, technology, the music business, film, video and fashion as it relates to the hip-hop industry.

The conference runs Thursday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Loudermilk Center in downtown Atlanta.

A3C Single-day passes cost $50-$99; a festival pass is $149 (attend all A3C music performances and showcases.); conference pass $149 (attend all A3C conference sessions.); all-access pass $199 (attend all A3C music performances, showcases and conference sessions.); and VIP pass $399 (attend all A3C festival and conference events plus get special access to industry networking events.).
