Deloitte LLP to bring 400 new high-tech jobs to Downtown Atlanta

July 18,2014

CAP Member, Deloitte LLP has picked Atlanta as the site of a technology development center — a first of its kind for the global professional services firm.

New York-based Deloitte will invest “tens of millions” of dollars and create up to 400 high-tech jobs over the next few years at the 26,000 square foot downtown Atlanta “iLab,” where it will develop software and analytics products for its Fortune 250 clients.

“Deloitte has made strategic decisions to invest in taking our intellectual property and creating cloud-based software and advanced analytics products,” said Paul Roma, a principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP. “The iLab (expected to open in September) is designed to be one of the physical spaces in the United States to build those products.”

Atlanta competed with six markets, including Silicon Valley/Bay Area, Texas, the Northeast and the Midwest.

“This is a significant investment for Deloitte,” said Ed Heys, the Atlanta-based Deloitte managing partner.

The city’s talent pool, low cost of doing business and global connectivity “added up to us selecting Atlanta to make this investment,” Heys said.
