Downtown Atlanta’s Woodruff Park

Announces Series of Free Fall Programs

Community programming scheduled September through November

ATLANTA (September 8, 2017) – Building on the success of its summer programming series, Downtown Atlanta’s Woodruff Park will continue to offer the community free programs this fall, enticing a variety of Downtown audiences to enjoy the park’s amenities.

“Our summer programs were embraced by the Downtown community,” said Ansley Whipple, Woodruff Park Project Manager, “and we are happy to continue to offer free classes and entertainment that everyone can enjoy—whether you work, live, go to school, or are visiting Downtown.”

The public is also encouraged to visit the park’s newest amenity: the Woodruff Park Game Cart. Located by the gazebo, the Game Cart is a brightly-colored activity kiosk filled with recreational supplies, from chess sets and board games to whiffle ball and Frisbees. Park staff, recreation interns, and local volunteers maintain the Game Cart’s inventory and assist park visitors with checking out supplies to be used in the gaming area on the gazebo or on the park’s main lawn.

The Game Cart is made possible by a Southwest Airlines Heart of the Community grant awarded to the park in 2016.
