On Saturday, August 26, the Centennial Park District is celebrating the opening of the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the first Atlanta Falcons home game with a day of football fun.

The Centennial Park District is the Southeast’s premier destination for football fans with sports bars, comfortable hotels, and restaurants for every taste and budget, all within walking distance of the new stadium.

Spend Opening Day in the District and enjoy the football-filled fun from morning to night:

· 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Start the day at Football Fest with the College Football Hall of Fame’s outdoor festival, where sports fans can enjoy music by The Railers, local marching bands, photos with mascots, and interactive booths.

· 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.: Pregame in the Centennial Park District at the sports bar, STATS Food + Drink, just a short walk from the stadium. Take in all the football fun with food and drinks, all while watching pre-game coverage on one of the bar’s 70 high-definition TVs.

· 7 p.m.: Kick off the first home game of the season at the new stadium.

· 11 p.m.: Cap off the night at one of the Centennial Park District’s nearby hotel bars where fans can celebrate their team’s victories or drown their sorrows before returning to one of the many luxury rooms for a restful night’s sleep.

The Centennial Park District is Atlanta’s premier entertainment district, where visitors have world-class attractions, interesting eateries, luxurious hotels and Centennial Olympic Park all within a short walk. Plus, Atlanta Streetcar and MARTA stops in the District make this part of the city accessible and easy to navigate with or without a car.
