Partnership with Georgia’s Own Credit Union, 100 Peachtree, and Southwest Airlines

Brings Free WiFi Service to Downtown Atlanta’s Woodruff Park

Free internet service now available to all park patrons

ATLANTA (October 26, 2018) – Woodruff Park is proud to announce its latest amenity—free, Park-wide WiFi—thanks to a partnership with Georgia’s Own Credit Union and 100 Peachtree and funding from the Southwest Airlines Heart of the Community grant.

Through the support of these three organizations, park patrons will now be able to enjoy connectivity that operates at the fastest available speed, 100 Mbps.

Since being awarded a Heart of the Community grant from Southwest Airlines in 2016, Woodruff Park has experienced marked revitalization, benefitting from the hiring of a full-time Park Project Manager, a reinvigorated calendar of community programs, the activation of the Woodruff Park Game Zone on the south end of the park, and strengthened strategic partnerships with neighboring companies and community organizations.

The “WiFi inWoodruff” program offers an additional, free amenity to the community that enhances the Park experience.

“WiFi will bring new opportunities for metrics to measure Park visitor demographics and success of Park programming,” said Ansley Whipple, Woodruff Park Project Manager.

“A healthy work-life balance is crucial for happiness and success,” said Tashe Graves, Community Engagement Manager for 100 Peachtree. “Providing WiFi in the park gives the tenants in our building the opportunity to leave their desks, work in the park, and enjoy all the neighborhood has to offer.”

According to Dave Preter, President and CEO of Georgia’s Own Credit Union, “Georgia’s Own is proud to support such a great initiative. Adding WiFi to Woodruff Park gives our employees, as well as everyone who lives, works, or visits downtown, another reason to further enjoy the park and Downtown Atlanta.”
