Greendog Canine Facilty Now Open

Greendog, the newest canine facility in the city, knows what  dogs wants and also what makes the owner comfortable.

Every client is invited to tour Greendog’s “Urban Farm” where his or her dog will be playing and staying – a perk that many facilities do not allow or encourage. The space resembles a cozy barn with warm wooden fencing, plenty of indoor and outdoor space for play, and 40 handcrafted eco-dens with wrought-iron window and latch. Throughout the day, the dogs play in small groups with dogs of similar size and temperament and are given rest periods in their eco-dens so they don’t get overly exhausted and irritable.

Greendog uses ecologically-safe cleaning products instead of bleach, because they know the dogs may come in contact with whatever is used in the facility. They use low VOC paint throughout the space, because the dogs deserve to breathe clean air, inside and out. Greendog uses a greywater recycling system which recycles their water from the hand sinks and grooming tubs and is then filtered, sanitized and reclaimed for its safe reuse in the low-flush toilets. In addition, local artisans have created the handcrafted den doors, metalwork, reception desk, counters and sinks in the facility, all out of recycled materials. It is truly the first place of its kind in Atlanta, and hopefully, not the last.
