Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, Jingle Bells, Silent Night, and many other Christmas favorites could be heard all through Woodruff Park downtown Monday afternoon.

The Atlanta Homeward Choir came together with the Georgia State University Choral Union to sing Christmas carols to raise awareness of homelessness as well as spread holiday joy.

Seventeen men and 10 women make up the Atlanta Homeward Choir, built up of prior and current homeless residents of Atlanta. This is the 5th year for the Choir, but the first year teaming up with GSU.

Donal Noonan founded the group when he came to Atlanta and witnessed first hand how many people live on the streets.

The next Homeward Choir Concert is taking place Sunday, December 10 at the Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, starting at 5 p.m.

GSU Choir will join the Homeward Choir for a combined concert in March.
