New Charter School to Open in Downtown

The Intown Academy is a new, tuition-free public charter school opening in the Old Fourth Ward. It offers Atlanta parents a neighborhood school that provides children with a safe, quality and rigorous learning environment. The Intown Academy will open as a K-6 school in 2010 and grow to K-8 over the first two years.

Open Enrollment is from March 24 through April 30, 2010. You must complete the Enrollment Application and provide proof of residence in the City of Atlanta Public School district during this timeframe to be considered to attend The Intown Academy.

You can begin the enrollment process by calling (404) 270-9788 and then visiting the Enrollment Office anytime before April 30 to provide proof of residence. There will be a notary on staff.

The expected start-up date is August 9, 2010, the school will be transitioning to the year round calendar by the start of the second semester.
