Ron Tarson Named GHLA's Volunteer Leader of the Year

Each year, GHLA recognizes one individual who has made a significant impact on the effectiveness and success of the Association. GHLA presented its 2016 Volunteer Leader of the Year Award to Ron Tarson, General Manager, The Westin Peachtree Plaza. The announcement was made during GHLA's Stars of the Lodging Industry Celebration earlier this month. Ron, who is now serving his third term as GHLA's Governmental Affairs Chairman, has provided a steady guiding hand through challenging issues facing our industry. He has been patient, thoughtful, and ever vigilant. It takes special dedication for a volunteer to study hundreds of pages of proposed legislation each session and to attend the numerous meetings required to protect our industry's concerns at the Capitol, and we are grateful for his service and leadership.
