Scenic Elevators are Now Open at the Westin Peachtree Plaza

The scenic glass elevators that shuttle visitors along the outside of the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel in Downtown Atlanta are now open. The elevators have been under repair since a March 2008 tornado left a path of destruction in the Downtown area. The elevators take visitors from the building's fifth floor lobby to the hotel's multi-level Sun Dial Restaurant atop the 73-floor story building. The Westin also expects to finish replacing each of the hotel's windows, many of which were damaged in the twister, in October.
