Soccer in Woodruff Park Kicks Off

What: Soccer in Woodruff Park Kick Off Event and Meet & Greet.  Hosted by Soccer in the Streets, Central Atlanta Progress (CAP) and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID), this event will mark the beginning of a month-long soccer program in Woodruff Park and will feature comments from program organizers, a meet and greet with Major League Soccer (MLS) Atlanta President Darren Eales and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra, and a pick-up soccer match.

When: Thursday, June 24th, 2015
11:00 AM: Remarks and Meet & Greet
11:30 AM: Soccer players take the field

Where: Woodruff Park Reading Room, adjacent to the intersection of Peachtree Street and Auburn Avenue

Who: CAP/ADID, Soccer in the Streets, MLS Atlanta, CAP/ADID President A.J. Robinson, Soccer in the Streets CEO Jill Robbins and MLS Atlanta President Darren Eales and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra

Hosted by Soccer in the Streets, with support from CAP/ADID and MLS Atlanta, Soccer in Woodruff Park will engage the Downtown soccer community by providing an opportunity to play and talk about the beautiful game of soccer on Thursdays, June 24th – July 23rd from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM.  Soccer in Woodruff Park will also provide an opportunity to network and discuss upcoming soccer happenings in Downtown, such as the new MLS franchise and the Gold Cup semifinals at the Georgia Dome, along with the growing Soccer in the Streets programming throughout the city.
