Delta Air Lines Volunteers Spruce Up Walton Spring Park
May 28, 2026
Led by Downtown Atlanta Inc.'s Art + Activation team, in collaboration with Kindred Lane, the Downtown Native Plant & Wellness initiative is creating a connected network of pocket gardens throughout Atlanta's urban core.
Last month, Delta Air Lines employees came to offer their support by volunteering at Walton Spring Park to plant a native garden that will foster biodiversity and help restore a key downtown green space. Delta Air Lines has been a loyal supporter of Downtown Atlanta's work for over 20 years. Partnerships like this show what is possible when businesses invest directly in the places they call home.

Native garden plantings do more than beautify streetscapes. They help support pollinators, improve stormwater management, reduce maintenance needs, and create greener, more welcoming public spaces for residents and visitors alike.

Projects like this are also a reminder that building a stronger Downtown is not the responsibility of any one organization alone. It takes businesses, nonprofits, civic groups, and community partners all pulling in the same direction to create a city that feels vibrant, cared for, and resilient. A small patch of native plants can end up doing something much bigger: turning an ordinary corner into a sign that people are invested in Atlanta’s future.
