bakie’s kanas city is back! This year, ALTERED MEANS, The Bakery, EyeSing Productions, and Irrelevant Music have teamed up to bring to you bakie’s kansas city: a speakeasy art bar experience. From December 18th through December 22nd, bakie’s kansas city, or bkc, will present visual art by The House of June (Ebony Blanding & Amber L.N. Bournett), Patrick Di Rito, Wihro Kim, and Catherine Wilmer, evenings of programming featuring Dust-to-Digital, Meredith Kooi, Hira Mahmood, and more, plus, some of your favorite DJs including Aja Arnold, Christina Swilley, and Kyle Swick.

Developed by curatorial platform ALTERED MEANS in the Winter of 2018, bakie’s kansas city is based loosely on Max’s Kansas City, a nightclub in NYC that was open from 1965 to 1981 and became a gathering spot for artists, musicians, poets, and the like, bkc is a cozy space for experimentation, conversation, and fun. bakie’s kansas city is your new favorite place.
