Details
Georgia State welcomes trailblazing journalist, producer, executive, activist, and author Pat Mitchell to its downtown campus on Tuesday, Nov. 5, when she speaks with students, alumni and friends at the university. A lifelong advocate for women and girls, Mitchell has broken new ground for women at every step of her career—leveraging the power of media to tell women’s stories and increase the representation of women onscreen and off. Formerly the president of CNN Productions, Mitchell was the first woman president and CEO of PBS and the Paley Center for Media. In 2010, Mitchell launched TEDWomen and serves as its editorial director, curator and host. In 2014, the Women’s Media Center honored Mitchell with its first-annual Lifetime Achievement Award, now named in her honor to commend other women whose media careers advance the representation of women.
