Open Studio Hours: 7pm - 11pm
Join us at the Public Art Futures Lab for an open studio with ATL DTN Artist-in-Residence Samantha Richardson during The ARTS Atlanta First Friday event in Underground Atlanta. Drop in anytime between 7 PM and 11 PM to explore works in progress and see how Samantha is blending analog and digital techniques through the use of RISO printing and animation. Her experimental approach evokes a stop-motion aesthetic, merging the tactile and layered feel of print with the kinetic energy of motion design.
This is a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at her creative process and experience the early stages of a project that explores the intersections of design, memory, and movement.
About the Artist in ResidenceSamantha Richardson is a designer and artist whose work centers empathy, community engagement, and visual storytelling. With a background in both global branding and participatory design, Samantha uses her creative practice to amplify heart-centered, people-powered missions. Drawing from her roots in rural Alabama and her experiences abroad, including a deep connection to Japan, her work often bridges cultural perspectives with innovative form. As an independent designer based in Atlanta, she is currently experimenting with RISO printing and analog animation techniques to explore new methods of storytelling and visual identity.
