On Tuesday, May 14, the Downtown community will pay tribute to the public safety agencies that serve throughout the city and state with a ceremony and memorial service hosted by Central Atlanta Progress (CAP) and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID), as well as the Atlanta Police Department, and in partnership with the Atlanta Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Foundation.
In recognition of National Police Week (May 13-17, 2019), members of the Atlanta Interagency Law Enforcement (ILE) Partnership will hold a public ceremony in Woodruff Park, starting promptly at 9:00 a.m. near the site of the Police Memorial, which was dedicated by the Atlanta Bar Association in 1980.
Participating law enforcement agencies include the Atlanta Police Department; Georgia State University Police; Georgia Institute of Technology Police; Georgia State Patrol, Capitol Division; MARTA Police; Georgia World Congress Center Authority Police; the Federal Protective Service; the National Park Service; Fulton County Sheriff’s Office; Fulton County Police; and Emory University Police.
