Sponsored by Smooth Jazz 101.1, Live from Woodruff Park returns to Downtown’s central greenspace this May, where a weekly series of Wednesday night concerts will be held on the lawn in partnership with Atlanta Jazz Festival's 31 Days of Jazz program.

This week’s concert, hosted by Smooth Jazz personality Rene Miller, features the Ruby Velle & The Trio and Hani'el Mastriani-Levi, who will open the set at 5:40.

Georgia's Own Credit Union, as part of their #85ActsofKindness initiative, will be distributing food truck vouchers at the concert (+ our first Food Truck Fridays event on June 7)! Our emcees will distribute vouchers throughout the evening, and they can be redeemed for a $10 meal at our food truck of the night, Island Chef Cafe.

Live from Woodruff Park is free and open to the community, with food and beverages available for purchase, in addition to the many nearby dining options that surround the park. The event series is family-friendly and open to all ages. Picnic baskets, blankets, and chairs are welcome. Opener bands begin at 5:40 p.m.; headliner bands begin at 7:00 p.m.

About Ruby Velle & the Trio: Deep, raw funk. Stax-style Southern soul. Uplifting Motown-channeling anthems. Atlanta’s Ruby Velle and the Trio are the heirs to the thrones of the old-school masters. But they’re much more than just a group of revivalists trying to create a period piece. Powerhouse singer Velle and her band will settle for nothing less than bringing these classic sounds glimmering into the now with a fresh new modern sheen.

This concert is made possible with support from Smooth Jazz 101.1, the official radio sponsor of Live from Woodruff Park.
