Woodruff Park to Host Pet Parade and

Costume Contest in Celebration of Dragon Con

Doggy Con pays homage to annual pop culture convention

ATLANTA (May 4, 2018)A signature event in Downtown Atlanta's Woodruff Park, WoodRUFF Bark began in 2017 as a Halloween pet parade and costume contest. For 2018, the park is morphing this pup-centric event into one that is even truer to its Downtown roots.

Meet Doggy Con.

This year's WoodRUFF Bark event is inspired by Dragon Con, one of the world's largest pop culture conventions that attracts thousands of attendees to Downtown each Labor Day Weekend. For Downtowners, Dragon Con is something of a holiday in its own right: a weekend filled with incredible costumes, positive energy, and plenty of fandom.

Save the Date: Doggy Con is bringing pup culture to Woodruff Park on Saturday, August 25 (the weekend before the convention) from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Strut your stuff in your best cosplay costumes before the big convention for a chance to win prizes...and eternal WoodRUFF Bark glory.

Doggy Con will feature a pet parade, costume contest, pup treats, doggy-centric vendors, prizes, and much more.

Stay tuned for more event details, including registration, in the coming months. For now, mark your calendars and start planning your costumes!
