Five Points Community Garden
An Urban Community Garden
The New Five “Points” Community Garden (formerly located about the Five Points MARTA) is more than just a collection of plants—it's a testament to urban resilience, community collaboration, and the power of fresh, locally grown food. Our garden now boasts a greenhouse, tool storage, compost station in our new space - and a pollinator garden at Underground. We're proud to be an official Pollinator Partner and completing certification as a Pollinator Steward.
Our Story
Established in 2016 through a partnership between Central Atlanta Progress, the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (CAP/ADID), and MARTA, our garden has deep roots in the community. In 2018, we joined forces with the City of Atlanta's Office of Resilience through its AgLanta program, solidifying our position as a key player in Atlanta's urban agriculture movement.
Today, our garden is a collection of galvanized steel planters, raised beds and giant clay pots brimming with garden favorites and exotic plants alike. From juicy tomatoes to aji peppers and aromatic za'atar, our dedicated members cultivate a diverse array of produce. But we're more than just a garden—we're a vital source of fresh food in an area that lacks easy access to a major grocery store.
Our Community
Our impact extends far beyond our garden beds. We've engaged hundreds of volunteers who have contributed thousands of hours to help us relocate and establish our new space. We welcome sororities, fraternities, service organizations, boy and girl scouts. All of Atlanta’s metro colleges have volunteered including Spelman, Morehouse, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Emory University and we have an ongoing partnership with SCAD. We also welcome corporate groups where we can customize a team building activity.
And some of our most valuable volunteers are performing community service. These dedicated individuals have transformed a neglected, weed-filled parking lot into a thriving green space.
We also want to thank AgLanta’s Grows-a-Lot and support from organizations like Food Well Alliance and ChangeX.
Our education partners include the Atlanta Botanical Garden, UGA Fulton County Extension and UGA’s Research Center, USDA, and the Atlanta Downtown Neighborhood Association.
Our corporate sponsors include South Downtown and CIM/Centennial Yards. And we have many in kind sponsors such as Firelight Coffee, Wylde Center, Wild Leap Brewery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where exactly is Five Points Farm located?
The farm is located across the new Greyhound Station in South Downtown at 203 Forsyth St SW. We moved two years ago because of renovations at the Five Points MARTA station.
How can I get involved at Five Points Farm?
Garden membership is open in the Spring, but you are welcome to volunteer throughout the year by signing up through Hands On Atlanta which recently did a nice feature on the garden. We hold one to three volunteer events on Sunday mornings each month with a few midweek. Farm plots are open to all interested parties. Participants must review then apply using the 2026 Five Points Farm Participant Agreement, and maintain current membership dues or volunteer hours. Dues for the garden vary based on plot size and plots are limited and first-come, first serve.
To sign up for your garden plot: fill out the participant agreement and send your completed form to 5pointsgarden@gmail.com. Once your application is approved, you’ll receive a paypal link to complete your membership.
How do I pay my membership dues?
Membership dues will be collected once a year from each active participant. Inactive plots will be reassigned at the discretion of the garden leadership team.
How big is a farm plot?
The main plot size is a large (8 ft. L x 3 ft. W x 2 ft. H) galvanized container.
How are plots assigned?
Plots are assigned first come-first served on an annual basis each March with renewals available each year.
What can I plant in my plot?
The plant list for the garden is seasonal and subject to the natural growing conditions. Most legal and non-invasive plants are permitted.
When can I access the farm?
You’ll be given the combination gate code for access once you join. We encourage you to use reasonable hours to access the garden.

We invite you to join our Facebook group, where you can connect with your fellow Five Points Farmers and hear about upcoming events in the garden.
