Planning

Central Atlanta Progress has a long, proud history of planning for future growth and development of Downtown Atlanta. Our strengths lie in convening people and being a catalyst for good ideas. The broad range of planning initiatives reflects the diversity of solutions needed to enhance the competitiveness and attractiveness of Downtown Atlanta. But we don’t stop with the plan – being an agent for transformation also means we muster the team and resources to see recommendations come to life.

Signature and Visionary Projects

Bold, innovative, and imaginative, CAP/ADID devotes extensive amounts of time and resources to developing and shepherding initiatives that are expected to revolutionize the future of Downtown:

  • Downtown Atlanta Master Plan
  • Atlanta Arts & Entertainment District
  • The Stitch

MARTA Makeover

Modern Historic Downtown

Preservation of Atlanta’s modern historic buildings is important in protecting the legacy of Atlanta’s “golden age” of growth. It is through historic buildings that the story of the city is told. Many of the historic buildings of this era are likely eligible for the Georgia Register and National Register of Historic Places. Based on this eligibility, federal and state tax incentives are available for appropriate rehabilitation projects. These tax incentives provide a way for downtown property owners to save money on rehabilitation, while also contributing to Atlanta’s preservation effort. Learn more
